Anyone may participate in this photo competition. Participating photographers will be required to enter into a contract with OnNigeria images stating that they hold rights to the image and granting OnNigeria images a royalty free license to use the image in connection with the competition.

We welcome participants from the six geo-political zones in Nigeria. Submission of the photograph grants OnNigeria images the right to use the photograph in its media, including but not limited to its website, and marketing materials.

Our objective with this competition is to gather stunning photographs profiling individual entrepreneurs from around the country.

Photographers are invited to submit iconic images that embody the spirit of entrepreneurship and private sector innovation. We are interested in imagery that provide striking illustrations of enterprise solutions to poverty from across Nigeria. We invite you to surprise us with your creativity.

Any photograph selected to be used in that way would be done so with proper attribution to the photographer, who also retain copyright to the photograph and will be cited as the creator of the work.

Which photo should I submit?

Applicants should submit photos of individuals that they feel embody the spirit of entrepreneurship. Selected photos should be relevant to the theme of the competition.

What are the technical specifications for the competition?

Photos from any geographic location may be submitted. Photo submissions can be in color or black and white, and must be digital photos. OnNigeria looks forward to receiving a broad stylistic range of photos. Let your imagination be your guide.

How do I submit my photo?

Photos must be submitted electronically using the submission form on OnNigeria’s website. No printed photos will be accepted. Along with the submission, you MUST include the following information in the submission form:

• Your full name and mailing address, a contact telephone number and your email address.
• A brief paragraph biography of the photographer.
• A title for the photograph
• A brief description of the image, including where and when it was taken, any information on the person or other details in the image, and any relevant stories

How should the photo be formatted?

We can only accept digital photo submissions. No printed photos will be accepted. Photos must be submitted electronically as a high resolution image, of up to 2200 pixels at 72 dpi. The maximum file size is 2MB. All photos must be in .jpg format. Photos can be in color or black and white, and must be appropriate for printing, as winning photos will be printed and featured in galleries at OnNigeria sponsored events.

What, if any, digital modifications are permitted on photos?

Not Permitted:

• No borders or frames may be added to images.
• No watermarks, signatures, or copyright notices may be added to images. All winning images will be displayed with the photographer’s name.
• Artistic filters are not permitted.

Permitted Modifications:

• Images may be cropped and rotated as necessary as long as the rectangular format is maintained and the size is within the specifications above.
• Images may be resized as long as the aspect ratio is maintained
• Red-eye removal and spot editing
• One-step enhancement (such as “AutoFix”, “QuickFix”, “Auto Levels”, etc.)
• Use of filters to sharpen, soften, blur, despeckle, or remove noise.
• Use of corrective functions to improve the natural appearance of the image, such as levels, contrast, brightness, curves, intensity, tone, hue, saturation, lightness, value, color balance, and tint.

Can I submit a photo taken by someone other than myself?

Photos must be submitted by the original photographer. Photo submissions that are taken by someone other than the applicant will not be accepted.

Am I required to have a release?

All photographers are expected to have the appropriate releases on file, and are expected to provide to OnNigeria images within five business days if requested. Photographers, if they do not have their own release, may use the sample release as provided by OnNigeria images.

How are photos judged?

All photos that comply with the call for photo rules will undergo a competitive process of confidential jury review. Expert OnNigeria images jurors will evaluate and rank the photos according to the criteria described in the call for submissions. The judges decisions are final, and there is no recourse.

What are the judges looking for when selecting winning photographs?

The I am an Entrepreneur photography competition judges are looking for high-quality photographs that embody the spirit of entrepreneurship, with particular focus on entrepreneurial ventures and technology. We are especially interested in photographs that capture some emotional quality associated with entrepreneurship: risk, innovation, excitement at possibilities, fear, wonder, etc.

Can I submit multiple photos?

No.

What sort of legal organization is OnNigeria?

OnNigeria images is a product of Naturemark Service. Incorporated in October 2001 under the company Act 1968 and supported by The Federal Government of Nigeria’s YouWiN programme. A collaboration of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Communication Technology (CT), the Ministry of Youth Development and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

OnNigeria images has sole and absolute discretion to determine which submission entries, if any, merit an award. OnNigeria images reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to change, modify, extend or reduce the terms and conditions of, or to suspend or terminate, the competition without prior notice. OnNigeria will endeavor to inform participants of any such change, modification, extension, reduction, suspension or termination, as the case may be, through any media outlet deemed appropriate by OnNigeria images in its sole and absolute discretion. OnNigeria further reserves the right to nullify and/or cancel any part or all of the competition if it appears that any fraud or malfunctions have occurred in any form whatsoever. Each participant undertakes to indemnify and keep OnNigeria images harmless from and against any loss, damage, claims, costs and expenses which may be incurred by or asserted against OnNigeria as a result of such participant’s participation in the competition. Participation in the competition and submission of photographs grants OnNigeria images a perpetual, worldwide, royalty free license to use the images in its sole discretion. Submission of the photograph grants OnNigeria images the right to use the photograph in its media, including but not limited to its website and marketing materials. Any photograph selected to be used in that way would be done so with proper attribution to the photographer, who would also be compensated for that work at market rates. All photographers are expected to have appropriate subject releases on file granting the photographer permission to use the photograph in accordance with the terms and conditions of the competition and to provide those releases to OnNigeria images within five business days if requested.

All photographs submitted are subject to the Agency’s judgment for inclusion. OnNigeria images may decline to include any submission at its sole discretion.

1. This Contract governs your membership in the OnNigeria images community, your special access to the OnNigeria images web site and your right to upload and download (subject to having the necessary credits) photographs, illustrations and other material from the Site.
2. OnNigeria images reserves the right to change or modify all or any part of this contract at any time, effective immediately upon posting on the site. Your continued use of your membership confirms your acceptance of the terms and conditions in this contract, including any changes or modifications made by OnNigeria images. If at any time the terms and conditions of this Contract are no longer acceptable to you, you must immediately close the membership on the site.

1. The site contains information, data files and other materials (collectively the “Content”) which is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights of OnNigeria images or other third parties (including other members).
2. You may only download data files in accordance with the terms of the Royalty Free License Contract. You may not publish, display, distribute, transmit, transfer, sell, copy, modify, create derivative works from, or exploit any content, except as expressly permitted in this Contract and the Content License Contract. You may post on the site any Data Files that you own, subject to the terms of the Upload Contract.

1. You shall not post anything on the site which is:
   1. libelous, defamatory, abusive, threatening, pornographic, or obscene;
   2. contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, malicious script or other contaminating or destructive features;
   3. violates third party rights, including any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or right of privacy; or
   4. violates any applicable law.

1. OnNigeria images cannot review all Data Files uploaded by Members on the Site and is not responsible for the content of such Data Files. OnNigeria images reserves the right to delete, move or edit any Data File that it thinks does or may violate this Contract or is otherwise unacceptable. You remain solely responsible for all Data Files uploaded under your member name. OnNigeria images may, in its discretion, correct errors or omissions in any Data Files.

1. OnNigeria images does not represent the reliability of any Data File that you may download and any reliance by you upon such Data File is at your own risk.

1. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold OnNigeria images, and its officers, directors, owners, agents, and licensors (collectively, the ” OnNigeria images Parties”) harmless from and against any and all claims, liability, losses, costs and expenses (including legal fees) incurred by any OnNigeria images Party resulting from:
   1. any use or alleged use of the OnNigeria images web site under your member name by any person, whether or not authorized by you;
   2. any Data File uploaded under your member name; or
   3. any breach of your warranties which are contained in this Contract. OnNigeria images reserves the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, and in such case you agree to cooperate with OnNigeria images ‘ defense of such claim.

1. OnNigeria images reserves the right to restrict, suspend or cancel your Membership at any time for any reason without prior notice or liability. OnNigeria images may change or discontinue all or any aspect of the Site at any time, including the availability of any feature, database, or Content, without prior notice or liability.

1. NEITHER OnNigeria images NOR ANY PROVIDER OF DATA FILES OR THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE; NOR DOES OnNigeria images, ANY THIRD PARTY PROVIDER OF DATA FILES OR THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS MAKE ANY WARRANTY AS TO THE RESULTS TO BE OBTAINED FROM USE OF THE SITE OR THE DATA FILES.    NEITHER OnNigeria images, ANY THIRD PARTY DATA FILE PROVIDER NOR THEIR AGENTS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY ACT, DIRECT OR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, EVEN IF SUCH PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

You specifically agree and acknowledge that you have, in addition to the terms of this Contract, reviewed the terms of the Content Licence Contract, the Upload Contract and any other contracts which may be incorporated by reference therein. A vacancy has arisen for a Sales Executive within the new business development team of OnNigeria Images. Working closely with the Business Development/Account Manager you will be responsible for supporting the role to seek out new business opportunities with research, phone calls, client meetings and tailored presentations to maximize sales to ensure you meet and exceed assigned monthly revenue targets. You will be involved in client negotiation, pricing agreements and contract completion, as well as general company-client relationship development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source, develop strong relationships and negotiate new business opportunities across a variety of different markets. Coordinate all aspects of sales, in order to meet or exceed established revenue goals
• Actively promote our services including our extensive library, exclusive coverage as well as specialist project such as “I am an Entrepreneur” Photo Competition.
• Achieve a minimum of 10 outbound sales calls per day and hit set client meeting targets
• Oversee the administration of new business generated
• Provide detailed Sales Pipelines and report sales activities to the Sales & Marketing Director

Essential Skills:

• Experience in outbound sales in a service-related field, preferably related to the licensing, advertising, or media industries
• Experience at creating and presenting proposals and pitches, in person and on the telephone
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to work under own initiative and constantly achieve set deadlines

Desirable Skills:

• Experience of the Picture Licensing industry and the Image Sales process
